The Council on Competitiveness in Washington, D.C. has asked Ed Morrison, one of I-Open's founders, to join its Regional Experts Committee. The Committee advises the Council on the future direction of its regional economic development initiatives. 

The Council has produced a number of important works in regional economic development. The Council is also a key advisor to the Department of Labor on their WIRED (Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development) initiative.
